SQL Anywhere — Service-Oriented Architectures

SQL Anywhere provides support for service-oriented architecture (SOA) initiatives through the following two options:

QAnywhere
QAnywhere facilitates the development of robust and secure store-and-forward messaging applications that are optimized for mobile and wireless networks. With QAnywhere developers can extend enterprise messaging applications and Web Services into mobile and frontline environments. QAnywhere’s easy to use development API and graphical administration tools simplify the development of mobile applications.
Operating over SQL Anywhere MobiLink server, QAnywhere can function as a messaging server, either independently or in conjunction with traditional database synchronization configurations. QAnywhere features include:

  • .NET, C++, Java, SQL APIs
  • Interface with JMS-based systems
  • Transmission rules
  • Group aliases
  • Encrypt message store & transmission
  • Message compression
  • Mobile Web Services

Mobile Web Services
Accessing Web Services in a mobile environment can be challenging because connectivity can be unreliable and even unavailable. The Mobile Web Services option in QAnywhere addresses these challenges by using a store-and-forward messaging architecture to transmit Web service requests and responses even when the network is unavailable. Furthermore, developers can control the delivery of Web service requests and responses using transmission rules based on a wide variety of network, message, device and time-based parameters. Mobile Web Services features include:

  • .NET, C++, Java, SQL APIs
  • Transmission rules
  • Group aliases
  • Encrypt message store & transmission
  • Message compression
