1. Accessing Current Release Bulletin Information

A more recent version of this Release Bulletin may be available on the World Wide Web in SyBooks™. To check for critical product or document information added after the release of the product, use SyBooks-on-the-Web.

To access the Release Bulletin from SyBooks-on-the-Web:

  1. Open the Sybase home page ( http://www.sybase.com).

  2. Choose Documentation.

  3. Choose Release Bulletins.

  5. Choose the latest version of the Release Bulletin for your platform.

Enclosed is Sybase MainframeConnect for DB2/MVS-CICS version 11.1.1, which is compatible with the following platform and operating system configurations:

  • CICS version 3.1 and later

  • MVS/ESA

  • DB2 3.1 and later

MainframeConnect for DB2/MVS-CICS is a unified version of two previous products:

  • MDI Access Server for MVS-CICS Versions 2.3 and 2.5

  • OmniSQL Access Module Release 10.1.2

Version Contents

MainframeConnect for DB2/MVS-CICS is shipped on two 3480 cartridges. The contents of the cartridges are listed in the installation chapters of the MainframeConnect for DB2/MVS-CICS Installation and Administration Guide and in the Open ServerConnect Installation and Administration Guide for IBM CICS/MVS.

MainframeConnect for DB2/MVS-CICS version 11.1.1 includes the following:

Migration Issues

MainframeConnect for DB2/MVS-CICS is backwardly-compatible with:

  • MDI Access Server for MVS-CICS Version 2.5

  • OmniSQL Access Module Release 10.1.2

Before Installing MainframeConnect for DB2/MVS-CICS

Before you install MainframeConnect for DB2/MVS-CICS, you must install the Open ServerConnect for CICS/MVS base tape.

Installing MainframeConnect for DB2/MVS-CICS

Functionality has not changed from version 10.5 of MainframeConnect for DB2/MVS-CICS.

There are no known problems with MainframeConnect for DB2/MVS-CICS version 11.1.1.

All references to SQL Server also apply to Adaptive Server.
