Dear Sybase SQL Anywhere for OS/2 Customer,
Our records indicate that your company has licensed Sybase SQL Anywhere and is using the OS/2 platform. We have completed development of SQL Anywhere on the OS/2 platform with the 5.5 release. We will, however, continue to support OS/2 with Sybase SQL Anywhere, version 5.5 as outlined in the following plan.
The current maintenance release, 5.5.04 for OS/2 is available; on the web at http://mysupport.sybase.com/ or through Sybase customer relations (part number 16747); or simply call 1-800-8-SYBASE and choose option #3. We will continue to sell SQL Anywhere 5.5 until at least March 31st, 2000.
In addition, Sybase will continue to offer our customers maintenance and support for SQL Anywhere 5.x through the year 2001. We are providing this extended period of support to our customers to ensure that they are successful in making the transition of their organization through the year 2000. Please note that Sybase SQL Anywhere version 5.5.04 is Year 2000 compliant as described in Sybase's Year 2000 matrix posted at http://www.sybase.com/inc/corpinfo/year2000_index.html.
We hope that the plan outlined above will provide adequate time for you to make a smooth transition from Sybase SQL Anywhere for OS/2 to an alternative platform including; Sun Solaris SPARC and X86, HP-UX and IBM AIX, Linux, Windows 3.X, Windows 95/98, Windows NT, Windows CE and Novell NetWare.
