US Supercenter Retail Chain

A U.S. supercenter pioneer sells food, cosmetics, clothing, furniture, and more through its chain of stores across Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky. Five regional offices and seven distribution centers manage more than 200 stores and 177 gas stations. Stores are open 24 hours a day, 364 days a year — as is its website, which provides online shopping across the country. That’s a lot of inventory constantly on the move and with business booming the company was struggling to handle the increasing amounts of data required to support the business. In order to keep pace with the company’s growth, its IT team considered purchasing additional hardware. However after conducting initial testing of ASE in-memory databases and ASE partitions on existing hardware, the company realized it could avoid the costly hardware upgrades and achieve shorter maintenance windows and faster order fulfillment and distribution with an ASE solution.
