Caser Seguros Centralizes Entire Business Information System with Sybase IQ
The Caser Group has more than 65 years experience operating in the Spanish insurance market. At the end of last year, the company had a revenue stream of USD $4 million, of which USD $3 million were derived from activities in the insurance market. The company is recognized for its client focus, quality of service and the breadth of its distribution network. On a daily basis, Caser generates and processes a large, and continually expanding volume of data. This information relates to the management of policies, the collection and processing of premiums, and claims handling in each of the markets in which the company operates.
Following the legal integration of the organizations that were brought together to form Grupo Caser, the company found itself with multiple information systems. Each of the companies acquired during the growth phase of the business had its own separate applications and databases. Once filtered, cleaned and optimized – the information is then loaded into Sybase IQ. The architecture comprises a data warehouse holding comprehensive information from across all insurance business lines, beneath which are established specific data marts.
