SQL Anywhere 11 Developer Edition Software Operating System and CPU Requirements

Note: To install SQL Anywhere 11 Developer Edition, the minimal free disk space requirements are roughly equivalent to twice the size of the download (e.g.: approximately 300 MB for Windows and 400 MB for Unix). The free space must be available on the drive specified in your TEMP environment variable. If you do not meet this minimal requirement, you may experience errors installing the software.

Please note that SQL Anywhere Developer Edition software is currently available for download on Windows x86 and x64, Windows Mobile, Novell NetWare, Linux x86 and x64, Linux Itanium, Mac OS X (Intel), Solaris SPARC, Solaris x64, IBM AIX, and HP-UX (PA-RISC and Itanium).

SQL Anywhere includes UltraLite deployment technology and MobiLink synchronization server for Windows Mobile, Palm OS, and Symbian OS platforms.

The following software is available:

Operating System and CPU Requirements

For PC x86 operating systems, an Intel Pentium-class or compatible CPU, is required.

For PC x64 operating systems, an Intel EM64T or AMD 64-bit CPU is required.

For complete list of supported operating systems, please refer to this document.

SQL Anywhere for Unix also includes Windows client support. To reduce the file sizes downloaded, iAnywhere has only made the files for the above Unix platforms available for development or evaluation purposes. If you also wish to evaluate or develop for Windows clients connecting to the above Unix platforms, you will have to download the Windows Developer Edition version as well.

SQL Anywhere can run with as little as 4 MB of memory.

If you are running a SQL Anywhere network database server, you must have appropriate networking software installed and running.

SQL Anywhere supports the following network protocols:

  • TCP/IP
  • SPX (Windows 32-bit only)
