Support Status for Older Licenses and Transitioning Existing Advantage Licenses to Advantage 9
The release of Advantage 9 will mark the End of Life for older versions of Advantage Database Server. As of March 30, 2008, Advantage Database Server 7.x versions will be classified as “Unsupported”. Advantage versions that have reached “Unsupported” status will no longer be eligible for technical support, bug fixes, or feature enhancements. To maintain supported status, users of Advantage 7.x versions may purchase version updates to the latest supported versions, Advantage 8 or 9. Please contact the original vendor from which you purchased Advantage Database Server or Sybase iAnywhere directly to inquire about the support status of your current Advantage Database Server(s).
For a transition period of 6 months following the release of Advantage 9, customers may purchase new Advantage 9 licenses and may also receive a duplicate Advantage 8 license to be used in accordance with the terms of the Software Licensing Agreement. This transition period is designed to allow current users the ability to fully test and integrate Advantage 9 without interrupting previously planned release cycles. Following this transition period, customers may still purchase older versions of Advantage but will not be entitled to newer versions without purchasing the appropriate update(s). Version updates for these licenses may be purchased at anytime and at the then current update pricing. Advantage license purchases of any version prior to the Advantage 9 release may also be updated at anytime at the then current update pricing.
