University Relations ? Community and Corporate Social Responsibility

Over the years, Sybase has been honored for its ongoing commitment to its employees and the community. The Sybase in the Community program incorporates a mix of corporate sponsorships, community outreach and employee volunteerism on local and national levels in the communities where Sybase does business.

The community relations program team works with nonprofit organizations dedicated to improving the lives of children and low-income families, and with local schools to support educational programs. The company provides monetary support through donations or event sponsorships.

In addition to these monetary donations, the community relations program team also arranges volunteer opportunities for employees to participate in at the local level, such as walk-a-thons, food drives and tutoring. In the United States, our nationally known partner organizations include the American Cancer Society, Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Special Olympics and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

At Sybase, corporate social responsibility is not a nice to have, but a business imperative. Sybase supports disaster relief efforts around the world, where Sybase matches the funds raised from employee donations. Many Sybase campuses are “Going Green” and take recycling and proper waste disposal seriously. Sybase is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council, which works to advance structures that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to work.
